Parkland Parks
Nestled in east Parkland, this Park consists of a quarter mile loop multi-use trail that winds through a quaint natural environment. The trail is accessible from Hillsboro Boulevard and the Winners Circle Trail. There is also interpretive signage along the trail highlighting wildlife and plants indigenous to the area.

Gather up your family and your pooch to spend the afternoon at Barkland Dog Park. Over two acres is dedicated to the canine friends of Parkland. Features include separate play areas for small and large dogs, pet water fountains, picnic tables and benches and much more. Animals need to be supervised and there are doggy bags for quick clean-up.

Named for a dedicated employee of the City of Parkland, Brian D. Archer, this park boasts a boardwalk winding through a peaceful preserve that leads park-goers to Ternbridge Trail. Brian D. Archer worked for the City of Parkland for nearly 25 years whose work helped establish Parkland’s tree canopy.

A popular location for photo ops, the historic Covered Bridge Park is one of Parkland’s passive parks. The 2.9 acre park branches out to many winding trails that lead to boardwalks, various parks and Riverglades Elementary School. Currently undergoing an expansion, this park will eventually include a gated nature play area, meditation garden, and yoga lawn. Currently closed for the expansion, which began in late August 2021, the park will eventually have hours from 7 a.m. to Sunset daily

Located next to Riverglades Elementary School, this preserve features a five foot wide, 900 foot long pedestrian trail. Walkers can explore the boardwalk that passes through an oak hammock and cypress wetlands. There is also a pavilion and two observation areas to take in the views of wildlife and nature. This preserve came to fruition due to the collaboration of Forman family, City of Parkland Mayor and City Commissioners, Broward County Board of County Commissioners, and Riverglades Elementary PTA have enabled this once endangered native land to be planned, restored, and opened to the public under the 1989 Environmentally Sensitive Lands (ESL) Bond Program. This Park offers a 5′ wide, 900′ long pedestrian trail traveling through pine woods and a 1,550′ boardwalk meandering through cypress wetlands and past a breathtaking oak hammock. Two seating and observation areas along with a pavilion area are located along the trail.

The Equestrian Center at Temple Park is the perfect place for parties under a large pavilion. Features also include barbecue grills, open areas and restrooms. The Equestrian Center is also used for horseback riding, riding lessons and equestrian events. Additionally, it hosts the well-attended Parkland Farmers’ Market held on selected Sundays from November through April.

Liberty Park is truly a community park. It was built by residents of Parkland over several weeks via the Build-A-Park initiative. Residents worked to raise the money, come up with the plans, and put in the hands-on work hours to make the park a reality. This seven-acre park has lots of interactive play equipment for all ages. The two wooden playgrounds offer slides and forts for children to explore. There is also a water play area and a large pavilion for parties and events.

For tennis players of all ages, The Parkland Tennis Center at Quigley Park offers lessons, clinics, individual and group classes and a variety of tennis camps for ages four and up. The Rob Nickels Tennis Academy is one of the largest academies of its kind in Broward County and is housed at the center. Under the leadership of Rob Nickels, Tennis Director, the tennis center offers memberships and events year-round. Please contact the facility directly for more information.

The largest park in the city, Pine Trails Park offers five multi-purpose fields. From T-ball to soccer and everything in between, Pine Trails Park always bustling with sports activities. Pine Trails Park also boasts a fishing pier, which is home to the Parkland Fishing Derby. The state-of-the-art playground features an interactive NEOS system to entertain and challenge the children. The park offers a wide array of events for the entire family. Whether walking along the trails or exercising on the Life Trails fitness equipment, it is a great way to get in a good workout.. Special events are held year-round and include the Eats n Beats Concert Series. The Parkland Recreation and Enrichment Center, known as P-REC, offers classes and camps for children as well as programming for teens, adults and seniors.

Terramar Park is located in the eastern part of Parkland. Features include playing fields for a multitude of sports, two playgrounds, pavilions of various sizes and barbecue grills. There are also pickle ball courts and winding paths for biking, walking, and jogging. All of the city’s sponsored athletic leagues utilize the fields at this park. In addition, Parkland’s Buddy Sports program provides programs for children and teens with sports activities. Currently undergoing an expansion of its parking and fields, Terramar Park is a great place for a picnic or a sunny day outside.

Located at the Parkland Library, Veterans Park is displays a memorial plaque, flagpole and benches. This is the location of the annual Veteran’s day ceremonies.
